new hampshire covered bridge Located in northern New England, New Hampshire occupies over 9,000 square miles.  The rugged White Mountains, highest in the Northeast, run down through the state, and the Connecticut River runs down its western border.  Light industry and technology are important to its economy, and tourists enjoy New Hampshire's many recreational activities and beautiful Fall colors.  Concord is the capital city; Manchester and Nashua are notable New Hampshire cities as well.

Located in south central New Hampshire, Concord is a center for distribution, industry and transportation.  Its economy is also bolstered by government, education, finance, medical services, and tourism.  Concord features a picturesque New England setting with historic interest and outdoor recreational opportunities, but a high property tax rate and long, cold winters.  The small cities of Manchester and Nashua are located 20 miles apart in southern New Hampshire, but both metro areas were combined for simplicity by the Office of Management and Budget in 2005.  Both cities have a history as textile-milling towns but Nashua has evolved into a commuter suburb of Boston, while Manchester is less progressive and lacks much of the entertainment and amenities found in Nashua.  Nashua offers small city living with a favorable tax climate, a well-educated population, and strong downtown revitalization.  Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, and Lockheed Martin all have operating facilities in Nashua.  Manchester still shows signs of prior industrial decline, but corporations such as Autodesk and Texas Instruments have moved into the area, and discount air carriers have selected it as a gateway destination point for New England.
